Description
The Arena of Nîmes, is a Roman amphitheatre, situated in the French city of Nîmes. Built around 70 CE, shortly after the Coliseum of Rome, it is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world.
It has proudly stood the test of 2,000 years and looks great for its age and the arena is still used for celebrations and concerts, and every May is a solemn scene for six days of bullfighting during the Feria de Nîmes.

👍 - A Marvelous photo Jurgen - of depicting the past Glory of Rome ! - Of course, everyone has a right of loving or disliking their viewing / participating choices, but for my own preference, - they should remove the matador sculpture because it has nothing to do with the ancient amphitheatre - and also stop their outdated, cruel and gory bull-fighting ! - 🐮

This one caught my eye again Jurgen; I've commented on it before, but something about it that had me take another closer look. Wonderful and serene.
