Description
This little known graveyard is located on Atsena Otie Key, a cluster of islands off the coast Cedar Key in Levy County, Florida. Evidence of pre-Columbian habitation goes back to over 1000 BC. In 1865, Eberhard Faber built a pencil mill on Atena Otie Key of which little remains. The mill was wiped out by a hurricane in 1896. Few structures remain on the island, including this beautiful wrought ironwork surrounding cemetery which gravestones conspicuously dated before 1896.
