Description
I found this group of Mexican Lime Cactus in the Usery Mountain Regional Park near Mesa, Arizona and converted the image to black and white to accent the thousand of sharp spines.
Mexican Lime Cactus or Mexican Fire Barrel (Ferocactus pilosus) is a large barrel cactus that sports funky, pink spines. This species has 13-20 ribs lined with red to pink spines. In the wild, mature plants can reach up to 10 feet tall and 20 inches in diameter. The Lime Cactus can bloom in late winter to spring with vibrant red-orange flowers. These flowers develop into juicy fruit that tastes of lime. It can produce offsets and grow into a large cluster.

Great textures here, those pokey spines create such nice contrast for black and white!
