Description
A Saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea) seems to be guarding the entrance to a cave in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in southern Arizona.
The Saguaro is one of the defining plants of the Sonoran Desert. These plants are large, tree-like columnar cacti that develop branches (or arms) as they age, although some never grow arms.
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is a U.S. National Monument and UNESCO biosphere reserve located in extreme southern Arizona that shares a border with the Mexican state of Sonora. The park is the only place in the United States where the organ pipe cactus grows wild.

Beautiful work, Jurgen! The cave entrance is the perfect frame for the amazing Saguaro!
