Description
This beautiful orange Canna Lily (Cannaceae) was still holding on to the night's raindrops when I came across the flower in the morning in a garden in Summers County, West Virginia.
Canna or canna lily is the only genus of flowering plants in the family Cannaceae, consisting of 10 species. It is a rhizomatous perennial with tropical-like foliage and large flowers that resemble that of the Iris.
