Artist's Description

Midgley Bridge near Sedona, Arizona is named for area rancher, businessman, and good roads advocate Major W.W. Midgley. The 200-foot-long, steel-arch bridge spans Wilson Canyon north of Sedona. When completed on Oct. 31, 1938, it served as the final link of the newly constructed State Highway 79 that connected Phoenix and Prescott to Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and Flagstaff.
Three-quarters of a century later, the bridge remains a highly used road, an architectural landmark, and a linchpin in north country tourism.
Midgley Bridge remains, along with Navajo Bridge, Salt River Canyon Bridge, and Pump House Wash Bridge, a fine example of a well-preserved, dramatically structured, New Deal- era bridge located in a picturesque setting.

Immigrating to the United States in the 1970s, I built a reputation in portrait photography, and ran a...
