Artist's Description

1946 Hudson pick up truck and a1948 Chrysler Yellow Cab are parked in front of the former Greyhound and Texaco stations on Erie Street in Lowell, Arizona. It seems that the building also housed the Palace Rooms above. An Indian Motorcycle ad is painted on the second story wall.
Lowell was at one time a sizable mining town located just to the southeast of Old Bisbee. The majority of the original townsite was consumed by the excavation of the Lavender Pit mine during the 1950s. All that is left today is a small portion of Erie Street, along with Evergreen Cemetery, Saginaw subdivision and Lowell Middle School. These days Lowell is considered by most of the local residents to be more of a place name than an operating community.
Erie Street is like stepping into a movie set and back in time.
This street depicts true Americana history and the way of life during 1950-60's era.
Apparently there are only two to three true store fronts and the rest are empty.

From images of nature and my surroundings growing up in northern Germany, to photo-journalism in Hamburg, Germany. I always gravitated toward a career in photography. Immigrating to the United States in the 1970s, I built a reputation in portrait photography, and ran a...
